The Cold Lake Ice would like to congratulate former forward Jamie Miller, on his commitment to play for the Portage College Voyageurs this school year.

Miller joined the Ice late last season and was a vital part of the team’s 5th straight NEAJBHL title. Through the final seven games of the NEAJBHL regular season, Miller picked up an impressive 7 goals and another 6 helpers for 13 total points.

On May 4, 2015, the Voyageurs tweeted the news of Miller committing to Portage.

Miller will undoubtedly be a welcome addition to the Voyageurs, who finished last in the Alberta College Athletic Conference last season. Miller is a sound defender and explosive offensively. His passing ability and vision from the wing will help the Voyageurs tally a few more then the 70+ goals recorded last season.

Miller will be a noted absence for the Ice this season, in his short time with Cold Lake he began to become one of the fan favourites. Through the playoffs and Provincials, and again during the Keystone Cup, Miller spent much of his time on the team’s first line.

Miller won’t be the only player missing from the Ice top line this season. Centre Devon Hascarl also graduated from Junior hockey, leaving two open spots up front.

IMG_0075Luckily, Ice fans won’t have to travel to far to see Miller in action again. The Portage Voyageurs will be playing at the Cold Lake Energy Centre this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. when they take on Keyano College.
