Your Cold Lake Ice capped off a great season on Saturday when they took to the Ice for their final regular season game.

Earlier in the afternoon, as part of Hockey Day in Canada celebrations at the Energy Center, the Ice were signing autographs and challenging some local youth to games of mini-stick.

Everyone had a great time and the turnout was fantastic.

At 8 p.m. it was all business as the Ice took on the Vegreville Rangers. Hearts For Healthcare was on hand to help us show our appreciation towards the medical professionals in the area that keep our community safe and healthy. Thank you again to everyone who helped make Saturday such a great day!!!

For some players it would be the last regular season home game they would ever dawn the blue and black of the Ice. Christian Nypower didn’t disappoint. One of the most prolific scorers in the history of the NEAJBHL he found the back of the net 6 times.

It was a great performance from veteran and rookie players alike. Cold Lake scored early and often, rolling to a 12-2 win.

It was an important game in the standings as Cold Lake was able to solidify 2 points and guarantee a 4th place finish and home ice advantage in round 1. Cold Lake plays Friday at 8 pm at the Energy Center for game 1 VS Onion Lake.
